 Peter Miguel Camejo, 1939-2008

Peter Camejo founder of Progressive Asset Management and The Camejo Group passed away in September of 2008. A group of seven in 1987, PAM has grown into a network of 66 registered representatives, the largest group of socially responsible investment professionals in the US specializing in pro- environment and social justice investments.

No one's vision and energy had more impact on what Progressive Asset Management is today than Peter Camejo. Peter was relentless in calling out financial and political elites for engineering the decades long course of ever increasing concentration of wealth and power our country suffers from today.

His idea of an investment firm being the financial "wing" of the next great social movement, working towards the day when environmental and economic justice takes precedence over corporate greed was always, to us, the premise and the promise of client-driven socially and environmentally responsible investing.

Many of us believed in Peter's vision  - we still believe in Peter’s vision - and that work continues on.

A fund in Peters name has been established at Earthshare. Founded by its member charities in 1988, EarthShare is an opportunity for environmentally-conscious employees and workplaces to support hundreds of environmental groups through workplace payroll contribution campaigns. EarthShare participates in campaigns at hundreds of public and privates sector workplaces.
